Woman killed in her Lagos home, Police begin investigation

The Lagos State Police Command has commenced investigation into the killing of a 50-year-old woman, Mabel Okafor, who was stabbed by unknown persons and found dead in her apartment.
SP Dolapo Badmos, the spokesperson of the Command, said on Sunday that the case was under discreet investigation to unravel and arrest the perpetrators of the crime.
Badmos said: “The Aja Division of the command received information on August 19 at about 12pm that one Okafor was found dead in her room at House J68B, Close 9, Victoria Garden City, Lagos.
“A Team of detectives attached to the Division visited the scene of the crime, examined and photographed it.
“The team discovered that the deceased was stabbed in the stomach by unknown person or persons.
“The corpse has been removed and deposited at mortuary, for autopsy.
“Meanwhile, effort is on to arrest the perpetrators of the act.”
The statement by Badmos also assured Lagos residents that the command would continue to do everything in its capacity to ensure a crime-free state.
She appealed to every resident to always report any suspicious movement of an individual or group of people to the nearest police station to them.
The police image maker also advised criminals to look for legitimate businesses to do otherwise the wrath of the law would catch up with them.
